Moving files is easy. Moving them into a structure that works is the project.
Copy a messy file server into SharePoint and you get a messy SharePoint, with the same broken permissions. We design the sites, libraries, and permissions with you first, then migrate into a structure that still makes sense in five years.
When to consider starting this project
- Your file server is old or out of warranty
- Files are scattered across personal Dropbox and Google Drive accounts
- Nobody is sure who has access to what
Designed first, migrated second, retired cleanly.
- Inventory of shares, folder sizes, and current permissions
- SharePoint site and library design
- A permission model built on teams and roles, not individual names
- Migration with versions and metadata kept where the source allows
- OneDrive sync and shortcut setup
- Retirement of the old file server or service
From first call to documented handoff.
Scoping is free, and the price is agreed before any work begins. Most projects are quoted at a fixed fee.
Before the work
-
Discover
We start with a free call. You tell us what you want, what you use now, and when you need it done.
-
Plan
We send you a free written plan. It lists the work and any equipment, with a price for each.
-
Sign
You sign the plan, and we put your project on our calendar. Nothing starts until you say yes.
The work
-
Implement
We do the work, mostly over the internet. If a job needs us in person, we come to you.
-
Adjust
Testing and real-life use show what needs work. We fix those things and fine-tune the setup.
-
QA
We check every item in your plan, one at a time. We don’t move on until everything works.
After the work
-
Document
We write down what we built, how it’s set up, and why. Our diagrams help whoever works on it next.
-
Handoff
We show you and your team how it all works. Then we hand over the passwords and the documents.
-
Follow-up
After we hand it over, we check back with you. We make sure everything still works.
We take on a limited number of projects at a time, so the sooner you’re scoped, the sooner you’re on the calendar.
Straight answers
Something else on your mind? Ask us directly.
Will we lose version history or file dates?
We keep versions and metadata wherever the source system allows, and the migration report lists anything that couldn’t come across.
Can people keep working during the migration?
Yes. We copy in stages while people work, then run a final sync at cutover so the latest changes come across.
Will files still open from File Explorer and Finder?
Yes, if you want that. We set up OneDrive sync or shortcuts so the libraries people use every day show up where they expect them.
We still run SharePoint Server on-premises. Can you help?
Yes. Microsoft ended support for SharePoint Server 2016 and 2019 on July 14, 2026, and SharePoint in Microsoft 365 is the usual next step. We scope it the same way.
For MSPs
File server and cloud-storage migrations into SharePoint and Teams, with permissions cleaned up on the way.
We deliver it white-label or co-branded, work in your PSA, RMM, and documentation platform, and never sell managed services to your clients.
